Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI)

The DEBI project was designed to bring science-based, community-and group-level HIV prevention interventions to community-based service providers and state and local health departments. The goal is to enhance the capacity to implement effective interventions at the state and local levels, to reduce the spread of HIV and STDs, and to promote healthy behaviors

  • Personalized Cognitive Risk-reduction Counseling (Target: MSM; Delivery Level: Individual)
  • Project FIO (The Future is Ours) (Target: Heterosexual women attending family planning clinics; Delivery Level: Group)
  • Project Connect (Target: African American and Latino heterosexual couples or woman alone; Delivery Level: Individual, Group)
  • EXPORT (Target: HIV negative MSN; Delivery Level: Individual)
  • Sister to Sister (Target: Low-income inner city women attending urban clinic; Delivery Level: Group)

 

  • Project S.A.F.E. (Sexual Awareness for Everyone) (Target: Mexican American and African American women diagnosed with an STD in public health clinic; Delivery Level: Individual, Group)

 

  • Female-and-Culturally Specific Negotiation (Target: Inner city, HIV negative, sexually active, out-of-treatment, crack-using or intravenous DU African American women; Delivery Level: Individual)
